15.5 Clone a personal template on multiple Data Centers

In this guide you will find the steps you need to follow to create a personal template and clone it on multiple Datacenters.

To create a personal template the FTP Space must be activated on each Datacenter. The template will in fact be saved in a special area of the FTP space.

Here are the steps you should follow to have the same personal template on different Datacenters.

Step 1

Log in the Control Panel;
select "COMPUTING" from the horizontal menu;
select the Datacenter in which you wish to create the personal template (e.g. DC1);
create a Cloud Server;
switch off the newly created Cloud Server;
activate the FTP space on that Datacenter;
create a personal template;
create a Cloud Server with the personal template;
switch off the Cloud Server;
export the image of the Cloud Server and save it in the FTP space;
download the image from the FTP space on the device.

Step 2

Log in the Control Panel;
select "COMPUTING" from the horizontal menu;
select the Datacenter in which you wish to clone the personal template (e.g. DC2);
activate the FTP space;
upload the image of the Cloud Server created on DC1 in the activated FTP space;
create a new Cloud Server with customised template using the image saved in the FTP space;
switch off the Cloud Server;
create a personal template.

Now you will have two identical personal templates on two Datacenters (e.g. DC1 and DC2). Proceed as indicated in Step 2 for each Datacenter in which you wish to clone the personal template.

If you wish to make changes to the personal template you need to edit each single template of each Datacenter.
