A volume can be created from two places:
Creating a volume from the Block Storage section
To create a volume from the Block Storage section, follow these steps:
- sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
- in the left vertical menu, under SERVICES, select Storage;
- in the Block Storage area, click on Go to Block Storage;
- in the Block Storage section, click on Create new volume;
- the Create new volume procedure requires the following details:
The volume created will appear in the list in the
Volumes section and the status will show as
Creating. It takes a few minutes for the volume to be created.
Creating a volume from the Cloud Server details page
To create a volume from the Cloud Server details page, follow these steps:
- sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
- in the left vertical menu, under SERVICES select Compute;
- in the Cloud Servers area click on Go to Cloud Servers;
- in the Cloud Server section, find the Cloud Server to which you want to add the volume and click on the three dots ... at the end of the line;
- select Manage from the list of options;
- this will take you to the Cloud Server details page;
- in the lower part of the page, select the Storage tab;
- click on Create new volume;
- the Create new volume procedure requires the following details:

- The volume created will appear in the list in the Volumes section and the status will show as Creating. It takes a few minutes for the volume to be created.
