1.8 Deleting a volume

You can only delete volumes that:
  • if the status is showing as Not in use, if a volume status is showing as Active you cannot delete it, but must first disconnect it from the resource;
  • do not have active snapshots. If they do, you must delete the snapshot that has been created on that volume first.
Deleting a volume cannot be undone and all data within that volume will be permanently lost.

To delete a volume, follow the steps below:
  • sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
  • in the left vertical menu, under YOUR SERVICES select Manaage > Storage;
  • in the Block Storage area, click on Go to Block Storage;
  • in the Block Storage section, find the volume you want to delete and click on the three dots ... at the end of the line;
  • select Delete volume from the list of options;
  • the Delete volume window will open requesting confirmation of the action;
  • click on the Delete volume button to complete the action.
