To create a volume from a snapshot, follow the steps below:
- sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
- in the left vertical menu, under SERVICES select Storage;
- in the Block Storage area, click on Go to Block Storage;
- in the lower part of the page, select the Snapshots tab;
- find the snapshot from which you want to create a volume and click on the three dots ... at the end of the line;
- select Create volume from snapshot from the list of options;
- the Create new volume procedure requires the following details:
- 1. Details
- Volume name: is the name that will be used to identify the volume (naming requirements).
- Tags (optional): tags can be assigned to each volume created to facilitate searching through the list (tagging requirements).
- Destination project: a volume must be allocated to a project, if none is selected, the system will assign the volume to the default project.
- Click on Continue.
- 3. Location
- the choice of Region is inherited and cannot be changed;
- click on Continue.
- 4. Configuration
- the choice of type is inherited and cannot be changed;
- you must specify the size of the volume in GB. This must be equal to or greater than the value indicated (inherited from the snapshot);
- Click on Continue.
- click on the Confirm button on the right of the sticky bar to finish creating the volume.
The volume created will be displayed in the list in the
Volumes section and will show the status as
Creating. Creating a volume takes several minutes.
