2.1 Creating a service

Cloud DBaaS does not let you:
  • switch from shared resources to dedicated resources and vice versa;
  • switch from a MySQL license to a Microsoft SQL Server license and vice versa;
  • change the license version.

To create a Cloud DBaaS, follow these steps:
  • sign in to the Control Panel;
  • select DATABASES from the menu;
  • in Manage Cloud DBaaS, click on ADD SERVICE;
  • this will take you to the Configure your DBaaS section.

To create a shared Cloud DBaaS with a MySQL database, follow these steps:

At step 1 Choose DBaaS type, select SHARED resources.

At step 2 Choose Database, select MySQL.
  • Choose the database version.
  • Specify the storage capacity: the system will set the minimum size to 1 GB, and the storage value can be increased to a maximum of 100 GB.

    With Cloud DBaaS it is not possible to downgrade the resources configured during setup. Resources can only be upgraded.
  • Tell the system what to do if the limit in the selected plan is exceeded. There are 2 options:
    • The excess storage resources will be charged on a pay-per-use basis.
    • Exceeding the limit will not be permitted.

      The status of the Cloud DBaaS will be changed to Limited and only certain features will be enabled.
At step 3 Configuration, assign:
  • Service name - the name of the service
  • Password - the user's password

    For more information on the rules for creating names and passwords, please see the guide.
