There are three procedures for shutting down a Cloud Server. These are suggested when you click on the "Shut Down" button in the area for managing the Cloud Server.
The three procedures are as follows:
- Turn off the Cloud Server from the operating system
- Forced shut down of the Cloud Server
- Forced shut down of the Cloud Server and boot-up
Turn off the Cloud Server from the operating system
The Cloud Server will be shut down using the operating system's functionalities. This operation has a variable duration depending on the Operating System and procedures, operations, or software that are active on the Cloud Server. This operation is the best way to shut down the Cloud Server.
Forced shut down of the Cloud Server
The Cloud Server will be forcibly shut down. This operation has an immediate effect and does not allow the Operating System to carry out the correct shut down procedure. Beware; this operation will only be carried out in the case of a Cloud Server not being able to be shut down by other methods.
Forced shut down of the Cloud Server and boot-up
The Cloud Server will be forcibly shut down and then booted up. This operation has an immediate effect and does not allow the Operating System to carry out the correct shut down procedure. Beware; this operation will only be carried out in the case of a Cloud Server not being able to be shut down by other methods.
ATTENTION: we remind you that in order to use the "
STOP - Cloud Server stopped from the Operating System" function the
tools of the hypervisor (VMware or Hyper-V) used on the Cloud Server need to be installed correctly.
The operations described are examples: the improper use or use without due care and skill, can cause the partial and total loss of data, and in some cases may jeopardize the correct operation of the virtual server. Using this guide without the appropriate skills is not recommended. Aruba S.p.A. does not accept any responsibility for any problems or damage caused by using these guides
