8.1.5 Connecting to a virtual disk Cloud Server Pro service guide

Before you attempt to upload any image on a disk, check the accepted file extensions.

You can connect a virtual disk either when creating a Cloud Server, or later during the editing phase. In the second case, you don't need to turn off the Cloud Server.

To connect a disk image to a virtual disk when creating a Cloud Server:
  1. When choosing the disks, in the section "hard disk", click on "Connect disk" relating to a HD space not being used yet. This will open a window with the list of files that can be uploaded from those present in the FTP area. Select the image you want to use and click on "Connect".
  2. At this point a window will open to choose and select the size in Gb of the virtual disk. When choosing the size you should take into account the fact that you can only increase the size of the disk and you won't be able to reduce it. Type the size and press "OK".
At the end of the procedure for creating the Cloud Server, the new disk will be already present with the uploaded image.

To connect a disk image to a virtual disk of an existing Cloud Server:
  1. Go to the edit page of the individual Cloud Server: tab "Manage" and click on the "Manage" button in the list for the Cloud Server that you want to connect the virtual disk to.
  2. Scroll down the summary page for the Cloud Server until the file "Virtual Disks" and click on "Connect disk" relating to a HD space not being used yet. This will open a window with the list of files that can be uploaded from those present in the FTP area. Select the image you want to use and click on "Connect".
At the end of the procedure we can see the new disk with the uploaded image in the list.
