5.2.1.4 Uninstalling patch KB2585542 in Windows operating systems

ATTENTION: we remind you that these guides are no longer valid as the connection method to the Recovery Console is no longer supported. Please use the only valid user guide for the Recovery Console.
Update kb2585542 for Windows operating systems, released on 13/01/2012, does not permit the use of SSL 1.1 in Internet Explorer. This leads to a VPN connection failure in tunnel mode, which is necessary to access the recovery console.

In a Hyper-V environment you can overcome this drawback by connecting to the VPN by means of the application Fortinet SSL VPN and then accessing the recovery console.

In a VMware environment you will be able to access a Cloud Server with the recovery console, using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer; also note that you can use the tool vSphere Client for any type of operation rather than connecting using the recovery console.

However, in order to restore access to the recovery console via the VPN connection in tunnel mode, you can and should uninstall the update patch kb2585542 as shown below.
