1.1 General overview of the Application Platform Cloud service

Application Platform Cloud is a PaaS (Platform as a Service) that offers maximum scalability of virtualized resources.

Platform as a Service is a category of Cloud Computing that offers Application Servers and one-click features making it easy to install and maintain your applications.

A PaaS solution is perfect when you have applications that don't need the power of Cloud Servers or physical servers all the time, but you don't want to compromise on scalability, separating services, high availability and simple management. This solution offers the resources you need to guarantee any service, from a simple Cloud application to sophisticated corporate applications.

Application Platform Cloud's real strength lies in its flexibility, because with just one solution, compatible with PHP, Java, Ruby, .NET, Node.js, Python and Docker, you get the flexibility of an IaaS infrastructure, combined with the benefits of a PaaS architecture.

Container technology is based on the use of micro instances called Cloudlets, 128MB of RAM and a 400MHz CPU, which can be used directly within the Application Platform platform.

Application Platform is a new kind of Cloud Hosting that's easy to use: all you have to do is choose the application Server you need, then select a highly available configuration with load balancing and more than one Application Server. It's easy to implement, and you only pay for the resources you actually use.

The service is available on a pay-per-use basis, or in a plan, with monthly allocation pool fees.
