Disk image

A Disk Image is a file which represents the copy of a physical or virtual disk encoded in a specific format, and recognised by the Hypervisor.
The formats accepted by Aruba Cloud Computing are format .vmdk for the VMware Hypervisors, and format .vhd for the Microsoft Hyper-V Hypervisors. You may need to create a disk image, for example if you wish to create a Cloud Server that is an identical copy of a physical Server, using a process which in this case is called P2V (Physical-to-Virtual).
