02 Adding an SSH key when creating a Cloud VPS OpenStack Linux

SSH (Secure Shell) is a network protocol that allows you to connect to a Cloud VPS OpenStack through a command-line interface on Unix-based systems. SSH commands are encrypted and secure.

When creating a Cloud VPS OpenStack with a Linux-based template, you can enable SSH access by adding an SSH key.

You can do this during the Cloud VPS OpenStack configuration process:
  • under CONFIGURATION > SERVER MANAGEMENT ACCOUNT, use the Add SSH key option to upload the key directly from your device;
  • alternatively, copy and paste the content of the SSH key into the relevant field;
  • select the SSH access without password option to sign in to the Cloud VPS OpenStack using an SSH key without using the root user password.
Using an SSH key makes signing in to the Cloud VPS OpenStack easier while improving security and convenience.

You can also enable SSH access when initialising the Cloud VPS OpenStack.
