EOL (End Of Life)
This template is no longer available for creating new Cloud Servers.
Features
Based on Debian, known for its strength as a server system, the Server edition of Ubuntu carries on the legacy of excellent performance and a predictive development. The first version of Ubuntu to have a separate server edition was the 5.10, released in October 2005.
From version 10.04 LTS, "Ubuntu Server Edition" it adds support for many typical configurations, bringing the simplicity that made it famous as an Ubuntu desktop environment even in the context of servers. The new "Ubuntu Server Edition" provides an excellent platform to develop servers with the major Internet services: mail, Web, DNS, file server or database.
A key aspect, which carries on the legacy from Debian, is security. The Ubuntu server, after installation, has no open port to the outside and only contains the software required for a secure server.
