Filtering one or more IP addresses on the Windows firewall
Sign in to the server via RDP;
click
Start
and type
Firewall
;
select
Windows Defender Firewall
;
in the panel, select
Advanced settings
from the list on the left;
Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security
will open;
select
Inbound Rules
from the list on the left;
the available rules will be displayed;
click a rule to view its properties;
in the
Scope
section, there are two methods for filtering IP addresses:
Local IP address
Remote IP address
All servers are exposed to the public network, so you must select the
These IP addresses
option in the
Remote IP address
section.
enter one or more IP addresses using the
Add...
button;
apply the changes using the
Apply
button at the bottom right;
after saving the changes, connections to the server from IP addresses that are not included in the list will be dropped;
if you entered one or more incorrect IP addresses, repeat the procedure to edit the list of filtered IP addresses.
