1.5 Creating and removing a link between a virtual switch and a service

Creating a link between a virtual switch and a service

To create a link between a virtual switch and a service, proceed as follows:
  • access the service details page and scroll down to the Links section;
    • if any links have already been created, they will be listed here;
  • click CREATE LINK;
  • the Create link window will open, where you must select:
    • one of the virtual switches you have created;
    • one of the services available in the same location as the virtual switch;
      • you can only link the virtual switch to services in the same location.
  • confirm by clicking CREATE LINK;
  • the link will be displayed in the list and its status will be set to LINKING;
  • once the operation is complete, the status will change to LINKED or FAILED, depending on the outcome;
  • if the status is LINKED, a VLAN ID value (e.g. 2022) will also be displayed. You will need this value to configure the connected server;
  • you must now configure the server network interface to make the link operational and use the service.

Removing a link between a virtual switch and a service

To remove a link between an ACTIVE virtual switch and a service, proceed as follows:
  • access the service details page and scroll down to the Links section;
  • locate the link you want to remove, which will have the LINKED status;
  • click the corresponding Actions option and select Unlink;
  • the Unlink window will open. Confirm the operation by clicking UNLINK;
  • the link will remain in the list and its status will be set to UNLINKING;
  • once the operation is complete, the link will no longer be displayed in the Links list;
  • the service that was previously linked to the virtual switch will now be unlinked.
