03 Adding a scheduled task

Accessing the Scheduled Tasks section

  • Log in to Aruba CMP;
  • from the menu, select UTILITIES > Scheduling;
  • in the Cloud Essential, VPS Schedules area, select Go to Control Panel;
  • you will be redirected to the Scheduled Tasks section of the Control Panel;
  • select the data center hosting the Cloud Server or Cloud VPS on which you want to schedule the task.

Adding a scheduled task

  • Access the Scheduled Tasks section and select ADD TASK;
  • in the Create Scheduled Task window, select:
    • Cloud Server - select the Cloud Server or Cloud VPS from the switched on or switched off machines available in the data center;
    • Status - select the status of the scheduled task you are creating;
    • Task - select the task you want to schedule;
       
      If you have an OpenStack Cloud VPS migrated from a VMware Cloud VPS, you cannot use scheduled tasks to schedule snapshots: you can still create snapshots manually
    • Start Date / Time - specify the date and time when you want the task to be performed;
       
      The date and time cannot be earlier than the time when the task is created.
      The first scheduled task must be set at least 5 minutes after it is created.
    • Recurring Task - this option allows you to make the scheduled task you are creating a recurring scheduled task;
    • Notes - add any comments about the task you are creating;
  • select ADD to confirm and complete the creation of the scheduled task.
  • the scheduled task you have just created will be displayed in the View as Calendar and View as List sections.

Adding a scheduled task from the calendar

You can also create a scheduled task from the calendar in the Scheduled Tasks section:
  • select the View as Calendar tab;
  • find the day on which you want to create the scheduled task;
  • right-click it;
  • select New Scheduled Task;
  • the creation process will start.
