The IP address ranges of the two subnets (source and destination) in the two VPC Networks must be unique not only relative to each other but also within the two VPC Networks you are connecting via peering. We suggest not using automatically created subnets; create dedicated ones instead.
Creating peering routes
To create routes between two VPC Networks:
- go to the details page of the VPC Network on which you activated peering;
- scroll down and select the Peering tab;
- find the peering for which you want to create peering routes and click the three dots ... at the end of the row;
- select Manage Peering from the list;
- scroll down and select the Peering Routes tab;
- click the + Add Peering Route button;
- in the Create new Peering Route process, provide the following:

- 1. Details
- Peering Route name: the name that will identify the Peering Route you are creating (naming rules);
- Tags (optional): you can associate tags with each Peering Route to make it easier to search from the list of created peerings (tagging rules);
- click Continue;
- 2. Configuration
- for both VPC Networks in the peering (SOURCE and DESTINATION), choose whether to:
- select an existing subnet from the Select subnet list;
- enter a CIDR manually by filling in the Network/Host fields;
- click Continue;
- 3. Billing frequency
- choose the service billing type;
- click Continue;
- click the Confirm button on the right side of the sticky bar to complete creation of the Peering Routes.
Managing a peering route
To manage peering routes:
- go to the details page of the VPC Network on which you activated peering;
- scroll down and select the Peering tab;
- find the peering and click the three dots ... at the end of its row;
- select Manage Peering from the list;
- scroll down and select the Peering Routes tab;
- find the peering route you want to modify and click the three dots ... at the end of its row;
- select Edit Peering Route from the list;
- in the 1. Details section, you can edit:
- Peering Route name;
- Tags;
- click on Confirm to continue.
