1.1 Creating a Backup for Microsoft 365 account

To create a Backup for Microsoft 365 account, follow these instructions:
  • Connect to the Control Panel;
  • Select the BACKUP option in the horizontal menu;
  • Choose the Backup for Microsoft 365 option in the SERVICES section in the left menu;
  • In the Backup for Microsoft 365 Account Management section click on the CREATE NEW SERVICE button;
  • You will be taken to the Create New Backup Service section;
  • You can configure your Backup for Microsoft 365 account in one of the following ways:

Creating an account with a shared solution

  • 1 - Shared or dedicated solution

    Select the Shared Solution option
  • 2 - Credentials

    Set the credentials you will use to access Veeam Service Provider Console and configure backups, the email address will be used to reset the password in case it is lost.
    • Company
    • Username
    • Email
    • Password
    • Confirm password
  • 3 - Activation Region

    Specify the data center where you want the backup service to be activated.
  • 4 - Backup Users

    Choose the service billing type between:
    • Purchase per backup user
    • Pay-per-use basis for user packages
  • 5 - Storage

    Indicate how to calculate the storage space used for backups by choosing between:
    • Pay-per-use select Disk Space
    • Package plan select Disk Space
      • indicate how to manage disk space when running out:
        • Automatically
        • Manually
  • 6 - Backup Configuration and Security

    Indicate the general configurations of the backups.
    • General
      • Retention Period
      • Retention Policy:
        • Snapshot-based
        • Item-level
      • Select the time slot to run backups
    • Security
      Choose whether to enable the service
      • Activate backup encryption service and choose a password to decrypt the data
         
        The password entered cannot be changed or recovered under any circumstances. It is recommended to store it in a safe place to avoid losing access to the backups.
        The service cannot be deactivated.
  • After completing the configuration, proceed and confirm in the message that appears.

Account creation with dedicated solution

  • 1 - Shared or Dedicated Solution

    Select the Dedicated Solution option
  • 2 - Credentials

    Set the credentials you will use to access the Veeam Service Provider Console and configure backups. The email address will be used for password reset in case of loss.

    • Email
    • Password
    • Repeat password
  • 3 - Activation Region

    Indicate the data center where you want the backup service to be activated.
  • 4 - Backup Users

    Choose the number of backup users you need. If you use multiple users, the system will add packages to match the number of users used. The actual number of backup users used will be counted at renewal.
  • 5 - Storage

    Indicate how to account for the space used to store backups for:
    • Disk space per package
      • Disk space choose one of the available packages and indicate how to manage disk space when running out:
        • Automatically
        • Manually
  • 6 - Backup configuration and security

    Indicate the general configurations of the backups.
