1.5 Setting up a report of backups

To set up a report for the Backup for Microsoft 365 service, follow these steps:
  • log in to the Veeam Service Provider Console using your credentials (in the format company\username and password);
  • from the left menu, select Reporting > Reports
  • in the Reports section, you will find two tabs:
    • All Reports - contains a list of all generated reports;
    • Configurations - select this tab to proceed with creating a report;
      • click on the + New option in the horizontal menu and select Microsoft 365 Object;
      • the process of creating the report (New Protected Microsoft 365 Object) involves the following steps:
      • Name
        • Name - assign a name to the report;
        • Description - enter an optional description;
      • Locations
        • select the location (Default location);
      • Parameters
        • Time period
          Select the period by choosing between:
          • Last - you can choose the period from the last day, week, month, or quarter;
          • Custom period - you can choose a custom period with a start and end date;
        • Report parameters
          select the report parameters by choosing between:
           
          • SLA - set an expected SLA value;
          • Object types - the types of objects you want to include in the report (by default All Object type is selected);
          • Object exclusions rule - you can write any exclusion rules for the selected objects above;
             
            To write a rule, you can use two symbols:
            • * (asterisk) to exclude multiple characters
              if you want to exclude all items containing -2022, you should enter *-2022 in the field
            • ? (question mark) to exclude a single character
              if you want to exclude all items containing the character #, you should write ?#
            you can enter multiple rules separated by commas, such as: *-2022, *-2023, ?#

        • Scheduling options
          choose when to automatically generate the report:
          • Generate this report automatically - by checking this option, you can decide when to schedule the report:
            • Daily at - daily, specifying the time and day;
            • Monthly at - monthly, specifying the time and day;
          • Notification options - you can send the generated report to an email address;
      • Summary
        informative page of the settings chosen for the report;
    • click on Finish to complete the configuration;
  • now the created report will be listed in the Configurations and All Reports section;
