Windows Server 2008 R2 offers a server platform that gives IT professionals greater control of the server and network infrastructure, and offers an enterprise level platform for the efficient management of company workloads, guaranteeing optimized procedures, a high level of availability, enhanced productivity for users working in branches or on mobile workstations, better virtualization functionality and energy use management.
Administrative access is provided via a remote desktop
, with the username Administrator and the password chosen during setup.
The Windows Virtual Desktops are provided with the following applications and software already installed:

|Forefront - line of security products from Microsoft
|AdobeFlash - for viewing Flash animations
|Adobe AIR - environment for running Adobe AIR desktop applications

|NotePad ++ - software for editing unformatted text that supports many different programming languages
For Windows Virtual Desktops, the option to enable audio on the Virtual Desktop
is interesting and useful, and you can use it via RDP.
Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection is pre-installed on the system. The Windows firewall is active and blocks incoming traffic to the server on the following ports:

137 TCP UDP
138 TCP UDP
139 TCP UDP
