1 Organizing resources into folders and projects

General rules for folders > project > service

The organization of cloud resources is based on a hierarchical structure that involves the use of folders and projects. Below are the fundamental rules that define how these elements relate to each other and to services.
  • A service must be included in only one project.
  • Each project must be included in only one folder.
  • Each folder must contain at least one project.
  • Bare Metal services are automatically placed, at the time of creation, in the default Bare Metal project within the default Bare Metal folder.
  • You cannot delete the default Bare Metal folder or the default Bare Metal project.
  • You can delete a project only if it has no linked services.
  • You can delete a folder only if it has no linked projects.
  • A Bare Metal service can be moved from the default Bare Metal project.
  • You cannot enable automatic renewal in the default Bare Metal folder.

Migration rules

Starting from February 9, 2026, the organization of services will be automatically adjusted to the new folder > project > service structure. Below are the rules applied by the system during the migration phase.
  • A cloud-v1 project will be created containing all resources and services delivered through the Control Panel.
  • A default Bare Metal project will be created containing all Bare Metal resources and services.
  • A default Bare Metal folder will be created containing the default Bare Metal project.
  • If not present, a default project will be created.
  • If not present, a default folder will be created.
  • Resources within a project will remain in the project.
  • If a project is not associated with a folder, it will be moved to the default folder.
  • If a service is present in only one folder, the system creates a project with the same name as the folder and places it there.
  • If a service is associated with multiple folders, the folder that has automatic renewal enabled will be selected.
  • If a service is associated with multiple folders (and none has automatic renewal enabled), the system automatically selects one folder and removes it from the others.
  • Tags associated with the folder or project will not be modified.
