Client Credential overview
A Client Credential allows an application to authenticate and securely access authorized APIs and resources. It consists of a Client ID and a Client Secret: the Client ID identifies the application, while the Client Secret is used to authenticate it.
Client ID
The Client ID is the public identifier associated with the Client Credential and is used to identify the application when accessing APIs.
It can be included in requests and shared with those integrating the application, but it cannot be used on its own to authenticate the application.
Client ID example: cmp-024a830c-6d82-4797-bc47-f5fdd7ferox13
Client Secret
The Client Secret is the confidential code used together with the Client ID to authenticate the application.
It must be stored securely and must not be shared, published or included in the source code.
Client Secret example: HnR5xHaHJ64lX4lbxuyOVNjmSsgPFaB5
