0.6 Managing a check

Editing a check

You can edit a check only if its status is ACTIVE.
  • Go to the plan details page;
  • scroll down to the Checks section;
  • find the check you want to edit and select the corresponding MANAGE button;
    • if the check status is DISABLED, the MANAGE button is disabled;
  • follow the wizard to edit the parameters: you can change all parameters except the check type;
  • confirm the changes by selecting SAVE CHANGES.

Disabling or enabling a check

  • Go to the plan details page;
  • scroll down to the Checks section;
  • find the check you want to modify and select the arrow to the right of the corresponding MANAGE button;
  • from the list, select Activate or Enable and confirm in the window that opens.

Viewing check history and logs

You can view the check history and logs only if its status is ACTIVE.
  • Go to the plan details page;
  • scroll down to the Checks section;
  • find the check you want to view and select the arrow to the right of the corresponding MANAGE button;
    • if the check status is INACTIVE, the MANAGE button is disabled;
  • from the list, select History:
    • you can view the check history and select the period you want to analyze;
    • the Most recent logs section displays the recorded activities.

What happens when you delete a check

If you delete a check:
  • you will no longer receive notifications if an anomaly occurs on the monitored service;
  • the parameters configured for the check will be deleted;
  • the check will become available again for creating a new monitoring check within the plan.

Deleting a check

Once the check has been deleted, it cannot be recovered. The operation is irreversible.
  • Go to the plan details page;
  • scroll down to the Checks section;
  • find the check you want to delete and select the arrow to the right of the corresponding MANAGE button;
  • from the list, select Delete;
  • in the Do you want to delete the selected check? window, confirm the operation by selecting OK, DELETE.

What to do if a check fails

If you receive a notification about an anomaly detected by a check, review the history and logs to identify the cause.

Make sure that the monitored service is not blocking the IP addresses of the selected Region, for example through a firewall, thus preventing the check from being performed.
