Creating a KMS
- Log in to Aruba Cloud Management Platform;
- from the menu, select GOVERNANCE > Security;
- in the Key Management System area, select Go to your KMS;
- in the Key Management System section, select Create new KMS;
- the creation process requires the following information:
- 1. KMS information
- enter a name for the KMS (follow the naming rules);
- you can add one or more tags to the KMS (follow the tagging rules);
- you must assign the KMS to a project. If you do not select one, the system will assign the KMS to the default project (this selection cannot be changed after creation);
- select Continue;
- 2. KMS location
- select the region and zone where you want to deploy the KMS (this selection cannot be changed after creation);
- select Continue;
- 3. Billing frequency
- select the billing option for the service;
- select Continue;
- 4. Service linking
- you can link services after creating the KMS from its details page;
- select Continue;
- select Confirm on the right-hand side of the sticky bar to complete the KMS creation process;
What to do after creating a KMS
After creating the KMS, wait for its status to change from
Creating to
Active.
Once the service is active, you can
link a service to the KMS or create a new encryption key.
Accessing the KMS details page
- Log in to Aruba Cloud Management Platform;
- from the menu, select PUBLIC CLOUD > Security;
- in the Key Management System area, select Go to your KMS;
- in the Key Management System section, find the KMS you want to edit and select the three dots at the end of the corresponding row;
- select Manage from the list.
Editing a KMS
- Go to the KMS details page;
- in the Actions area, select Edit;
- in the Edit KMS process, you can only make changes in the 1. KMS information section:
- you cannot change the destination project;
- Tags (follow the tagging rules);
- Snapshot name (follow the naming rules);
- confirm your changes;
- select Confirm on the right-hand side of the sticky bar to apply the changes.
