1.2 Creating a KMS

To create a KMS follow these steps:
  • sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
  • in the left vertical menu, under SERVICES select Security;
  • in the Key Management Systems area, click on Go to your KMSs;
  • in the Key Management Systems click on Create new KMS.
The Create new KMS procedure requires the following details:
  • 1. KMS details
    • KMS name: the name that will be used to identify the KMS (naming rules).
    • Tags (optional): you can associate tags with each KMS created to facilitate searching (tagging rules).
    • Destination project: a KMS must be allocated to a project, if none is selected, the system will assign the KMS to the default project.
    • Click on Continue.
  • 2. KMS location
    • Specify in which Region the KMS should be located.
      The choice of region and zone cannot be changed later.
    • Click on Continue.
  • 3. Billing frequency
    • Choose the service billing type.
    • Click on Continue.
  • 4. Connect services
    • Services can be connected from the details page after the KMS has been created.
Click on Confirm on the right side of the sticky bar to finish creating. The KMS created will appear in the list in the Key Management System section and the status will show as Creating.
