1.5 Managing the role of restore operator for groups and users

The role of restore operator (assigned individually or as part of a group) allows a user within the Microsoft 365 organization to impersonate other users and be enabled to perform file, folder, or service restores using Veeam Portal Restore.

To manage the restore operator role for users and groups, follow these steps:
  • access the technical details of the Backup for Microsoft 365 account;
  • click on the Restore users management option below the name of the Backup for Microsoft 365 account;
  • in the Restore users management section, there is a dropdown menu with the organizations you have linked;
  • select the organization for which you want to manage the restore operators;
  • you will be able to view the list for groups or for users;

    The list of groups or users will only be available after connecting your Microsoft 365 organization to the Veeam Service Provider Console backup service.
  • For each item (whether a group or a user) in the list, you can click on Add to the restore list ;
  • by clicking on it, the Add group/user to restore list level will open, where you will be asked to confirm the operation with the ADD button;
  • once the operation is confirmed, the item at the end of the line will change to Remove from the restore list;
  • if you wish to remove a group or a user, follow the same procedure by clicking on the Remove from the restore list option.
