09 Upgrading a Cloud VPS OpenStack

What you cannot do when changing resources

The Cloud VPS OpenStack service does not allow you to downgrade the resources configured when the service was created.
You cannot increase an individual resource. You must select one of the available sizes.
You cannot change the type of Cloud VPS OpenStack selected when the service was created, switching from Cloud VPS OpenStack Starter to Cloud VPS OpenStack or vice versa.

What is a Cloud VPS OpenStack resource upgrade?

Each Cloud VPS OpenStack is created by selecting a size: a fixed package of resources that includes vCPU, RAM and HD.
An upgrade increases the resources by moving to a larger size.

Why increase the resources of a Cloud VPS OpenStack?

The need to increase the resources of your Cloud VPS OpenStack depends on several factors. The monitoring available for the Cloud VPS OpenStack is a useful tool for determining whether you need to upgrade.
You can check CPU and RAM usage, disk usage and incoming and outgoing network traffic to understand how you can optimise the performance of your Cloud VPS OpenStack.
