SSH keys

SSH (Secure Shell) is a network protocol that allows you to establish a secure connection to a remote computer, such as a Cloud Server or Cloud VPS, using a command-line interface. Communications via SSH are encrypted.

The procedure for adding an SSH key when creating a machine applies to:
  • OpenStack Cloud Server;
  • VMware Cloud Server;
  • Cloud VPS.
It is available if you select a Linux template.

When creating a Cloud Server or Cloud VPS, if you have selected a Linux template, you can add an SSH key in step 5. Server Management Account.

Proceed as follows:
  • go to ADD SSH KEY;
  • you can add the SSH key in one of the following ways:
    • in the Upload SSH key via file area, go to SELECT and choose the file containing the SSH key;
    • alternatively, enter the SSH key in the relevant text field;
  • if you want to use SSH key authentication without entering the password for the root account, select Passwordless SSH access;
  • continue creating the Cloud Server or Cloud VPS.
