4 How to activate and manage automatic renewal of folder services

What folder automatic renewal is

Folder automatic renewal allows you to centrally manage the renewal of all services within the projects contained in a specific folder. By enabling this option, services will be renewed with the same frequency and according to the same method, simplifying administration and reducing the risk of oversight.

Which folders can have automatic renewal enabled?

You can enable automatic renewal on all folders except the default Bare Metal folder.

Prerequisites to enable folder automatic renewal

To enable automatic renewal for a folder, the following conditions must be met:
  • your Cloud account must have auto top-up enabled, which is required to ensure automatic payment of renewals;
  • all services contained in the folder must already have automatic renewal enabled;
    • you can check the automatic renewal status by accessing the folder detail page, in the Services section, under the Auto-renewal/Auto top-up column.

Why enable folder automatic renewal?

Enabling folder automatic renewal allows you to:
  • standardize renewal deadlines and methods across all included services;
  • reduce the number of manual operations and the risk of interruptions due to missed renewals;
  • simplify the management of Aruba Cloud services, especially in environments with many active resources.

How to enable folder automatic renewal

  • Access the folder detail page;
  • on the right side, above Actions, the automatic renewal status Automatic renewal not active (gray toggle) is displayed;
  • click on the toggle;
  • in the Enable automatic renewal window you must specify:
    • the renewal frequency (from 1 to 12 months);
    • the payment method:
      • credit card or PayPal account;
      • direct debit (can be activated within the 15 days prior to the service expiration date);
      • wallet, the Cloud account credit;
  • click on Renew to apply the change;
  • the status will change to Automatic renewal active (blue toggle).

How to disable folder automatic renewal

  • Access the folder detail page;
  • on the right side, above Actions, the automatic renewal status Automatic renewal active (blue toggle) is displayed;
  • click on the toggle;
  • in the Disable automatic renewal window confirm with Disable renewal;

    After disabling folder automatic renewal, individual services will continue to renew automatically, each according to its own method and expiration date.
  • the status will change to Automatic renewal not active (gray toggle).

What happens if you disable automatic renewal for a service within a folder that has automatic renewal enabled?

If you disable automatic renewal for a service within a folder that has automatic renewal enabled, a window will open with two options:
  • Disable auto-renewal also on the folders containing the service: the original renewal settings will be restored for each service in the folder;
  • Remove the service from folders with auto-renewal: the service will be removed from the folder (which will continue with auto-renewal enabled) and at the same time automatic renewal will be disabled for that service.
