10 Creating a volume from a snapshot

Log in to Aruba CMP;
from the menu, select Public Cloud > Storage;
in the Block Storage area, select Go to Block Storage;
at the bottom of the page, select the Snapshot tab;
locate the snapshot from which you want to create the volume and select the three dots at the end of the corresponding row;
select Create volume from snapshot from the list;
the Create new volume procedure requires the following information:
- 1. Information
  - assign a name to the volume (follow the naming rules);
  - you can associate one or more tags with the volume (follow the tagging rules);
  - the destination project is inherited from the volume;
  - select Continue;
- 2. Location
  - the region is inherited and cannot be changed;
  - select Continue;
- 3. Configuration
  - by selecting Make the volume bootable, you can configure the volume as the boot disk of a Cloud Server; you must select the template corresponding to the operating system in the snapshot, otherwise the volume creation will fail;
  - the volume type is inherited and cannot be changed;
  - specify the volume size in GB, which must be equal to or greater than the value shown (inherited from the snapshot);
  - select Continue;
- select Confirm on the right-hand side of the sticky bar to complete the volume creation.
The newly created volume will be displayed in the Volumes section with the status Creating. Creating a volume may take a few minutes.
