Which backup policies can be deleted
Not all backup policies can be deleted:
- global backup policies cannot be deleted, as they are predefined infrastructure-level configurations;
- template-based backup policies can only be deleted if they are not associated with active volumes;
- custom backup policies can only be deleted if they are not associated with active volumes.
Deleting a backup policy
- Go to the backup policy details page;
- select the Policy actions button on the right and then select Delete;
- a window opens where you must confirm the operation.
Once deleted, the backup policy will no longer be available for new assignments. Deleting the policy does not affect backups that have already been performed, which remain available until the retention period defined by the policy expires.
