What is a projectPublished page
A project is a logical entity that allows you to organize resources within the
New Cloud Management Platform.
A project is used to organize related resources in a logical way, for example applications and connected services.
Projects can be used to manage the life cycle of applications, allowing for the creation of separate environments for development, testing and production.
Defaultproject
There must always be one, single default project.
The first time you go to the
Projects section, the system creates and configures the default project with the following features:
- Project name: defaultproject DEFAULT.
- Tag: none.
- Number of resources: 0.
- Created on: date of first login to the Projects section.
The default project cannot be deleted until a new project has been created and
set as default project.
The default project (either the one created by the system or a project created by the user) displays the
DEFAULT badge next to it in the
Projects list.
Setting a project as default project
There must always be one, single default project.
Setting a project as the default project can be done in two ways:
- when creating a new project, by ticking Set as default project;
- editing an existing project.
Creating a project
To create a project:
- sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
- under MY SERVICES in the left-hand vertical menu, select Projects;
- in the Projects section, click on + Create project.
When you
Create a project, the following details are required:
- Project details
- Project name: the name to be used to identify the project in the list.
For rules on creating names, see the guide Naming.
- Description (optional): description of the project (maximum 120 characters allowed).
- Tag (optional): tags can be assigned to each project created.

- Set as default project: tick this option to set the project as the default project.
- click on Create project;
- the new project will appear in the Projects section list.
Creating project resources
If a project does not contain resources, you can create new ones directly from the project details page, as follows:
- sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
- under MY SERVICES in the left-hand vertical menu, select Projects;
- in the Projects section, find the project to which you want to add resources;
- click on the three dots ... at the end of the row and select Manage from the list of options;
- this takes you to the project details page.
In the lower half of the details page, choose one of the options:
- create new resources directly from that project Create Kubernetes Clusters (see the guide on how to creating a Kubernetes cluster);
- create new resources directly from that project Create Elastic IPs (see the guide on how to buying an Elastic IP).
Editing a project
Only the name, tags and description of a project can be changed.
To edit a project:
- sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
- under MY SERVICES in the left-hand vertical menu, select Projects;
- in the Projects section, find the project you want to edit;
- click on the three dots ... at the end of the row and select Manage from the list of options;
- this takes you to the project details page.
In the project details page, you can edit the information and set a default project:
Activity log
Activities prior to the release of the activity logging service (26/03/2024) will not be reported.
To access the activity log of a project, follow these steps:
- sign in to the New Cloud Management Panel;
- in the left vertical menu, under YOUR SERVICES select Projects;
- in the Projects section, find the project for which you want to view the activity log;
- click on the three dots ... at the end of the row;
- select Manage from the list;
- this will take you to the project details page:
- select the Activity log tab at the bottom;
- activities will be displayed and can be sorted by:
- Type;
- Description;
- Date and time;
- Priority;
- Outcome;

For each activity (user or system), you can view the details by clicking on the arrow at the end of the row.
In the activity details page under the Log section, there are three dots. Click on the dots to copy or download (in TXT format) the displayed log.
Deleting a project
Only the name, tags and description of a project can be changed.
To edit a project:
- sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
- under MY SERVICES in the left-hand vertical menu, select Projects;
- in the Projects section, find the project you want to edit;
- click on the three dots ... at the end of the row and select Manage from the list of options;
- this takes you to the project details page.
In the project details page, you can edit the information and set a default project:
