03 Activating a disk added to a Cloud Server

This guide applies to:

• VMware Cloud Server
• OpenStack Cloud Server
• Cloud VPS Hyper-V

After adding a disk to your Cloud Server, you cannot use it immediately. All added disks are provided as raw devices (not initialized or formatted). To make them operational and visible to the operating system, you need to activate them. The procedure depends on the operating system installed on your Cloud Server:

• Cloud Server Windows
• Cloud Server Linux
