1.2 Creating a Cloud Server

When creating a Cloud Server, you must associate a VPC Network with an active DHCP Subnet.
  • Sign in to the New Cloud Management Platform;
  • in the left vertical menu, under SERVICES select Compute;
  • in the Cloud Server area click on Go to Cloud Servers;
  • in the Cloud Server section click on Create new Cloud Server;
  • the Create Cloud Server procedure requires the following details:
    • 1. Cloud Server details
      • Cloud Server name: the name that will identify the Cloud Server (naming requirements);
      • Tags (optional): you can associate tags with each created Cloud Server to facilitate searching (tagging requirements);
      • Destination project: you must assign the Cloud Server to a project or the system will assign it to the default project;
      • click on Continue;
    • 2. Cloud Server location
      • indicate the region / zone where you want the Cloud Server, the choice of region and zone cannot be changed later;
      • click on Continue;
    • 3. Source
      • Select a template from the available options;
      • click on Continue;
    • 4. Size
      • Select a size for the template;
      • click on Continue;
    • 5. Storage
      • The minimum size in GB of the primary disk (HD 0) varies depending on the size you have chosen;
      • click on Continue;
    • 6. Networking
      • you must associate a VPC Network with the Cloud Server:
        • if you don't have a VPC Network, the section is disabled and a VPC Network will be created automatically
        • If you have one or more VPC Networks, the Automatic Configuration option will be enabled and the default VPC Network will be selected, you can disable the option to select a different VPC Network by choosing:
          • one of the available VPC Networks;
          • one of the available Subnets with DHCP enabled;
          • one of the available Security Groups.
      • decide whether to associate an Elastic IP with the Cloud Server:
        • uou can purchase one or select an IP address from those you have available, if you don't associate an IP address, you will only be able to access the Cloud Server through the recovery console;
      • click on Continue;
    • 7. Server management account
      • Select an existing SSH key
        • If you have chosen a Linux template, you can select an existing SSH key to connect to the Cloud Server, or create a new SSH key; this is optional and the SSH key can also be set later;
      • Set password
        • The password can be set from the Cloud Server details page;
    • 8. Billing frequency
      • choose the service billing type;
      • click on Continue;
    • click on the Confirm button on the right side of the sticky bar to finish creating the Cloud Server.
Creating a Cloud Server takes a few minutes, after which the status will change from Creating to Active.
