1.2 Creating a VPC Network

How many VPC Networks can be created

You can create up to 10 VPC Networks per Region.

Creating a VPC Network

To create a VPC Network, proceed as follows:
  • sign in to the Aruba Cloud Management Platform;
  • from the menu, select SERVICES > Network;
  • in the Virtual Private Cloud Network (VPC Network) area, select Go to your VPC Networks;
  • in the Virtual Private Cloud Network section, select Create new VPC Network;
  • the VPC Network creation procedure requires the following information:
    • 1. Information
      • assign a name to the VPC Network (follow the naming rules);
      • you can associate one or more tags with the VPC Network (follow the tagging rules);
      • you must assign the VPC Network to a project. If you do not select one, the system assigns the VPC Network to the default project;
      • select Continue;
    • 2. Location
      • select the region where you want to create the VPC Network (this selection cannot be changed after creation);
      • select Continue;
    • 3. Configuration
      • if you do not want to use automatic VPC Network creation, disable the option;
      • you can choose whether to set the VPC Network you are creating as the default VPC Network (when creating your first VPC Network, the option is disabled);
      • select Continue;
    • select Confirm on the right-hand side of the sticky bar to complete the VPC Network creation.
The subnet and security group parameters can be configured from the VPC Network details page.

Creating a VPC Network may take a few seconds.

Creating a VPC Network automatically

When creating a VPC Network automatically, leave the option enabled at step 3. Configuration.

The system automatically creates a subnet (automatic-subnet) and a security group (automatic-sg), which you can find in their respective areas on the VPC Network details page.

You can only edit the following settings for the subnet and security group:
  • name;
  • tags;
  • destination project.
A VPC Network can also be created automatically when creating a Cloud resource.
