  2. the Cloud Server manage option;

 ATTENTION:
before you proceed please remember to:

Create a Personal Template from the "Personal Templates" section

1a) Log in the Control Panel, select the Datacenter which holds the relevant Cloud Server, go to the "Manage" section and then click on "Personal Templates" in the left menu. The following page will appear.

1b) Select the "Create New Template" button.

1c) A page will open where you will need to enter information about the Template you are creating. You will see 4 different sections:
  • Cloud Server
  • Presentation
  • Access details
  • Resource Restrictions
CLOUD SERVER
In this section it is possible to select the Cloud Server you wish to use to create your Template from. The list will include all the Cloud Servers (of the Datacenter selected after logging in) which are currently switched "Off". After selecting the Cloud Server the details of the primary hard disk will appear.

PRESENTATION
  • Name: this will be the name with which the template will be presented within the Personal Templates when creating a new Cloud Server
  • Descriptive text: this will be displayed as the description of the Template within the Personal Templates when creating a new Cloud Server
  • Icon: there’s the option of uploading an image (size 128x128 pixel in PNG, JPG or GIF format and maximum 50KB) which will be used as the icon of the Template, if not uploaded the default icon will be used.
  • Operating System Type: descriptive text which indicates the Operating System that’s installed in the Template (e.g.: Linux CentOS)
  • Operating System Version: descriptive text which indicates the version of the Operating System installed in the template (e.g.: 6.3)
  • Architecture: 32 bit for 32 bit Operating Systems, 64 bit for 64 bit Operating Systems

ACCESS DETAILS
In the Username and Password fields you need to enter the Server access details. These details will be displayed when creating a new Cloud Server based on the Template to indicate the details you need to use to access.

RESOURCE RESTRICTIONS
For each new Template you create you can choose to assign limitations to the hardware resources of the Cloud Server which uses such Template (number of vCPU, number of RAM, number and capacity of the hard disks). For example, if you wish, you can set the minimum number of RAM to 3 and maximum number of RAM to 6 (as shown below) so that when you use that specific Personal Template it applies these limits.
The possibility to indicate a minimum and/or maximum value for the hardware resources of the Cloud that will be using that Template allows you to limit configurations and /or require specific ones.

ATTENTION: the limitations of the resources selected when creating a Personal Template CANNOT be changed later.

Once you have completed this process click on "Create Template", and confirm the creation of the Template.

After creating the Template this will show as "ACTIVE" in the "Personal Template" page, and you can see its details and edit it by clicking on "Manage".
