Windows Server 2008 R2 offers a Server platform that gives IT professionals a greater control of the Server and network infrastructure, and offers an enterprise level platform for the efficient management of company workloads, guaranteeing optimized procedures, a high level of availability, enhanced productivity for users working in branches or on mobile workstations, better virtualization functionality and energy use management.
Administrative access is provided via remote desktop, with the Administrator login and the password chosen during setup.
Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection is pre-installed on the system.
The Windows firewall is active and blocks incoming traffic to the server on the following ports:
135 TCP UDP
137 TCP UDP
138 TCP UDP
139 TCP UDP
hMailServer is not active, and must be configured in order to be used. To do this, launch "hmailserver administrator" from the start menu, the password is the default one, namely: hMail.
